Last weekend, I had the chance to go snowmobiling in Oregon for the first time with a few friends. This was also my first time ever using the Nikon Z6 and I put it to the test to see how it would hold up compared with Nikon’s DSLR cameras, which I have been using ever since I first got into the craft. Both photo and video from the trip turned out excellent, but it was the camera’s video capabilities that really blew me away. Shooting off the back of a moving snowmobile would normally produce footage that is shaky and often out of focus, but by using the Z6’s continuous autofocus, electronic vibration reduction, and high frame rate, I was able to come away with clean, sharp video - even in such a wild and unpredictable environment as this. I put this short video together from the eight hour trip using footage from the Nikon Z6, a drone, and a couple other cameras we used to document the day. Tomorrow I’m headed to the Oregon Coast where I will be focusing on creating some new seascape images with the camera. Enjoy the video! #NikonZ6 #NikonUSA
