5 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE GORILLA⠀🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍 ⠀ 1. They have the same emotions as humans. They can laugh when you tickle them and cry if you hurt them. ‐----------------‐------------ 2. There are only 1,004 mountain gorillas left in the world. 🌏⠀ ------------------------------ 3. Most gorillas will live into their 30's but one gorilla at the Little Rock Zoo was dubbed the oldest gorilla in captivity living to be 63 years old! ⠀ ----------------------------- 4. They barely ever drink water! They get their hydration from eating plants. 🌱🌿 ---‐------------------------- 5. They eat around 49 pounds of vegetables a day. That’s a lot of vegetables! 🥦🥬🥕 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Affiliate Photographer, @neliswolmarans leaves us with this beautiful, up close shot of the mountain gorilla, an animal he truly loves.⠀ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more shots like this, visit the Nelis Wolmarans photo gallery at the link in our bio!

Gorillas are known for their human-like intelligence and other characteristics, including their hands and feet. ⠀ Gorillas have opposable thumbs and big toes that asssist in getting tasks done and sometimes, even to communicate with humans!⠀ ⠀ One gorilla at the San Francisco Zoo was even recorded using sign language to communicate with it’s handler!⠀ ⠀ ⠀ To see more shots like this, visit the link in our bio.⠀ Photo Credit: @neliswolmarans
